(Sun Nov 8) Do This Today in Mendocino

Culture
The Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden is the perfect place to see both beautiful plants and some amazing outdoor art.

Open 9am - 4pm on Highway 1 just south of Fort Bragg.

Food & Wine
Rendezvous Restaurant in Fort Bragg offers a three-course fall tasting menu paired with optional local wines by the glass. The menu includes oven-roasted essence of heirloom tomatoes, butter poached sablefish on a friture of leeks and shallots with a Daube-style sauce, and juniper berry-sauced grilled medallions of venison on braised red cabbage. 5:30pm to 9:00pm

If heading south today, stop at Toulouse, Londer, Foursight or Meyer family vineyards for nice people and great wine.

Outdoors
It's going to be another lovely day on the coast! Take a walk to the Point Cabrillo Light Station (off highway 1 near Russian Gulch State Park), but wear a jacket because the coastal winds keep the temperature cool out there, even on a sunny day.

If heading south today, just past Philo, turn right at Greenwood Philo Road and stop in for a quick walk through old growth redwoods at Hendy Woods State Park, just about 2 miles north from the 128 – a short detour that ‘s well worth iit.
