Culture
Mendocino Coast Furniture Makers are making a gift for us all as they direct their talents into making fun and intriguing wooden toys that entertain children and adults alike.
“Cherished by children since they began playing with sticks, wooden toys have always been favored by parents to inspire, amuse and provide quiet entertainment for their young. Enduring and fun, families pass traditional wood toys down though generations. As an integral art of all cultures, toys teach children about their society and the world about them. Hoops, tops, rocking horses, rattles, mobiles, whirlygigs and all matter of wooden toys will pour out of the furniture makers' workshops.”

Wine & Food
For lunch and dinner we recommend the Moosse Café and Café Beaujolais. In Fort Bragg, try Mendo Bistro (dinner only) or the new Franklin Street Cafe.
The Wine Bar[n] is open for wine flights and cheese boards from 3-7 today, and don’t forget our complimentary wine hour from 5:30 to 6:30 as well.
Driving south on the 128, stop at Navarro, Toulouse, Londer or Meyer Vineyards for nice people and good wine.
Outdoors
Low tide is at a perfect time today (1:52) to go tidepooling at the headlands directly across the road from Glendeven. Go to the end then walk north along the cliff. You won’t be sorry you did!
Or to enjoy the sun as you can today…. go to the seal watching station at MacKerricher State Park's Laguna Point three miles north of Ft Bragg.
This month is the start of the California Grey Whale Migration. Watch for spouts!
