(Sun Dec 13) Do This Today in Mendocino

Culture
William Inge's classic Pulitzer Prize winning romantic comedy "Picnic" at Helen Schoeni Theatre on the campus of the Mendocino Art Center (LOCATION Mendocino Arts Center 45200 Little Lake Street, Mendocino, 2:00 pm Box Office 707-937-4477

Food & Wine
For lunch we recommend Café Beaujolais, Patterson’s Pub, and the Mendocino Cafe in Mendocino, and in Ft Bragg we like The Fort Bragg bakery on Franklin Street at 360 N Franklin St (pizzas and sandwiches as well as terrific bread and pastries), and also the new Franklin Street Café 223 N Franklin St, Fort Bragg, CA 95437 (707) 964-1620. Good food at great prices.
For dinner try the Ledford House in Albion; in Mendocino Café Beaujolais, 955 Ukiah (and get a bottle of Black Kite pinot noir!), and in Ft Bragg Mendo Bistro, or for an adventure, Nit’s Thai Cuisine.

If heading south on the 128, stop at Navarro, Toulouse, Londer, Foursight, or Meyer Family Wines for nice people and great wines. AND stop in Healdsburg for lunch at The Oakville Grocery, Bistro Raph’s right on the square, or at Willi’s Seafood & Raw bar for great small plates

Outdoors
Be sure to walk the headlands across from Glendeven Inn. Walk out the driveway and enter the park. Turn right then follow the trail out to the headlands (15 minutes), at the bench turn right and walk along the cliff line into Spring Ranch, a beautiful open meadow. Upon your return, the bench is your landmark to come back east. (If you continue south you’ll get stuck in the private community behind the gate down Peterson Lane.)
