(Sun Jan 3) Do This Today in Mendocino

Culture & Entertainment

Practice your knowledge of Boontling, the local extinct language of Boonville while heading south on the 128. Boontling info can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boontling

Wine & Food
It's going to be a beautiful day! Pick up a great bottle of local wine (Glendeven Wine Bar[n] open 3-7 specializing in Mendocino County wines), and get some yummy sandwiches from the Little River Market or Harvest Market in Mendocino, then head out to enjoy the sunshine.

If driving south on the 128 today, stop at Navarro, Toulouse, Londer or Meyer Vineyards for nice people and good wine.

Outdoors
Walk the short half-mile to the Point Cabrillo Light Station, where the views are always amazing, but sunset is truly breathtaking. The grey whales are migrating south, so watch for spouts!

If heading south on the 128, stop at Hendy Woods State Park (turn right up Greenwood Philo Road) and walk amongst old growth redwoods. A worthwhile stop.
